HR Support and Administration Assistant Apprenticeship

Join Step Change Outsourcing as an Apprentice HR Support & Administration Assistant. We are a contact centre based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, with over 200 staff, specializing in sales, retention, and customer experience campaigns since 2009.

We foster a fast-paced, energetic, and ethical culture focused on delivering excellent results and creating a great work environment. As an apprentice, you will gain a Level 3 HR Support qualification, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, through classroom, online training, and on-the-job experience.

This role is ideal for someone with office experience looking to develop a career in HR and Office Administration. You will support the HR team with employee administration and be a key part of our vibrant Stevenage office, ensuring smooth daily operations.

Main responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting onboarding and employment checks, ensuring compliance with right-to-work and documentation requirements.
  2. Assisting with HR administration such as maintaining records of holidays, sickness, and leave.
  3. Managing personnel documents through printing, scanning, and filing.
  4. Updating employee records for starters, leavers, and changes.
  5. Ensuring contractual documents are in place and compliant.
  6. Handling reception duties, greeting visitors, and organizing meetings.
  7. Maintaining office supplies and supporting the office's daily functions.
  8. Willingness to work outside normal hours if needed.

Skills and experience required:

  • GCSE Maths & English grade C/5 or above.
  • At least one year of office experience in an administrative role.
  • Some proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Attention to detail and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, punctuality, and professional appearance.
