Role: HR Specialist - Permanent - Belfast

Job Overview
VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a progressive and well-established organisation in Belfast for an experienced HR Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional seeking to take ownership of key functional areas such as employee relations, HR compliance, and policy development, while also supporting strategic HR initiatives across the business.

  • Salary: £36,000 - £38,000
  • Monday-Friday, with flexi hours.

What you'll do:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in key HR disciplines such as employee relations, HR policy, and compliance.
  • Provide expert advice and support to managers on complex HR matters, ensuring alignment with employment law and internal policy.
  • Lead investigations and casework relating to disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues.
  • Review, update and implement HR policies, procedures, and contracts in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with employment legislation and internal standards, supporting audit and risk functions where necessary.
  • Deliver training and guidance to line managers on HR best practices.
  • Oversee and improve HR systems and reporting processes to ensure data accuracy and insight generation.
  • Support organisational development initiatives, including change management, restructuring, and engagement planning.
  • Collaborate with payroll and finance teams to ensure smooth integration of HR and compensation processes.
  • Contribute to the wider HR strategy and continuous improvement projects across the business.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a specialist or advanced generalist HR role.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (Level 7 desirable) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and proven ability to manage complex employee relations matters.
  • Experience in policy development, HR compliance, and audit preparation.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and strong reporting/analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to advise and challenge effectively at all levels.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
