Our client is an established global manufacturer, proudly operating a multinational network of facilities spanning several countries.

About your new job

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be part of a highly motivated team ensuring that the workforce is able to perform optimally in a safe environment.
As the Human Resources and Safety Officer your responsibilities will include but not be limited to –

  1. Recruitment, onboarding, and termination: In accordance with internal regulations and legal requirements, effectively plan, define, and carry out the recruitment strategy, conduct interviews, and hire candidates. Oversee the new hire integration program as well as help the management with termination procedures.
  2. Compensation & benefits: Manage remuneration and performance-based incentive processes. Ensure legal compliance, conduct, and participation in salary declaration. Conduct and monitor benefit programs.
  3. Training and performance management: Driving skill development through creating training plans, organizing internal and external training, and monitoring employee performance.
  4. Employee and Unions relation: Ensure a positive social climate and take the lead on internal communication and employee relations initiatives.
  5. Workers Compensation: Execute effective Monthly HR Reporting. Manage workers compensation claims, and support managers and employees to achieve successful return to work outcomes.
  6. Safety: You will be responsible for ensuring all group procedures, and regulatory and legislative requirements for Health and Safety. Developing and recommending safety measures to protect the well-being of employees in the workplace. Promoting healthy and safe working methods and practices that will help your employees achieve their tasks more quickly and safely. Assessing, recording, and reporting on hazards, accidents, injuries, and health issues. Studying the cause and providing remedial advice if there is an accident and investigating accidents and health issues.

About you!
  • You will have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HR Management, with a strong knowledge of Australian labour law and industrial relations.
  • 5+ years in HR
  • Manufacturing or operational environment background is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
