About the role:
MAG anticipates opening new work locations over the next six months and beyond. You will support People and Culture organisational readiness for responding to new programme countries, focusing on Occupied Palestinian Territories, Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and others.
You will collaborate with MAG’s UK-based Programmes HR Managers to design proactive recruitment and resourcing methods for local and international roles, and develop guidance on local employment matters, including contracts and employment law. You will lead HR systems development—policies, toolkits, handbooks, benchmarking—and provide broader People and Culture support to ensure HR policies and systems are transparent, accessible, compliant, and contextually adapted. This is key to achieving MAG’s strategic goal of a globally inclusive workforce with the skills, capacity, and culture to deliver impactful programming.
About you:
You should have experience in international HR operations, supporting organisational readiness and workforce planning, ideally with surge capacity experience. You will have developed HR frameworks for new work locations, including drafting staff handbooks and policies, establishing salary scales, and setting up HR systems for employment in new countries.
You should understand employment law and compliance related to establishing new locations, possess strong project management skills, and be an effective communicator capable of developing remote working relationships. A proactive, solution-oriented approach is essential.
