CMA Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a highly respected, values-led organisation in the not-for-profit sector to recruit an experienced HR Project Manager for a 9-month fixed-term contract. Based in Poole, Dorset, with hybrid working available, this role plays a critical part in shaping the future safeguarding and volunteering policy framework. The organisation is undergoing a programme of strategic change, and the HR Project Manager will lead this key project from end to end to ensure long-lasting impact and compliance across the group.

What will the HR Project Manager role involve?

  • End-to-end delivery of a complex, business-critical project focused on safeguarding and volunteering policy and framework development.
  • Work closely with senior HR and operational stakeholders to scope, define, and implement project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and delivery to plan.
  • Establish and monitor budgets with support from the Finance Business Partner.
  • Own the project governance and maintain key artefacts including RAIDD logs, plans, reports, and visual management tools.
  • Develop a benefits realisation plan to track outcomes and ensure sustainable change post-delivery.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear communication and risk mitigation throughout.
  • Ensure a smooth handover to business-as-usual teams, embedding tools and training as needed.

Suitable candidate for the HR Project Manager vacancy:

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex HR or business change projects within multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience in safeguarding, policy development, volunteering, or regulatory frameworks highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, able to challenge constructively and influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing project budgets and risk logs with a clear understanding of governance.
  • Adept at balancing structure with flexibility in fast-paced, values-led environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and report clearly.
