If you're looking for a new opportunity where you can make a real difference could our Policy and Reward Officer role be the next step in your career? You will support the ambitions of our People Strategy, and compliment the strategic direction of East Riding Council.

Reporting to the Policy and Reward Manager, People Services have an opportunity for someone with the right values and skills to temporarily join our team. With over 12,000 employees, the Policy and Reward team are vital in the delivery of the Council's People Strategy. Working with across the Council with various services and partners, the team have a focus on:

  • Supporting the development, implementation, and review of policies to ensure strategic development and the delivery of the ambitions of the People Strategy
  • Promoting inclusive, diverse employment practices including agile and new ways of working
  • Undertaking meaningful consultation and engagement with trade unions and continuing to build on positive working relationships.
  • Researching policy, pay and reward.
  • Leading on a wide variety of special projects
  • Managing job design and job evaluation frameworks to ensure fair and equitable pay and reward mechanisms.

This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who have experience of:

  • Writing modern progressive HR Policy
  • Summarising complex information into clear and concise reports
  • Interpreting employment legislation and case law into practical application
  • Research skills
  • Working with key stakeholders to drive projects forward.
