People Advisor (HR) for Education Trust in Milton Keynes

Teaching Personnel are the exclusive partner of an Education Trust supporting a network of Primary and Secondary Schools primarily across Milton Keynes. The Trust are growing their Team to recruit a People Advisor.

  • Location:Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Contract:Full-time, Temp to Perm or Permanent contract on offer
  • Pay: Daily rate equivalent to £20,000 - £25,000 PA

As a People Advisor, you would become an integral part of the Trust's HR Team providing efficient and effective strategic and operational service across the Trust that aligns with their vision, values and priorities, with guidance from the Director of People Services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide advice, support and 1:1 coaching to the Heads of School/Headteachers within the Trust, partnering with and acting as a first point of contact in relation to employee related matters including but not limited to employee relations, recruitment, discipline, capability and absence.
  • Deliver practical advice; training and coaching to line managers on all aspects of people management, policy and applicable changes to employment legislation. Escalating to the Director of People Services accordingly.
  • A pro-active approach to absence management, ensuring employees receive the support they need to return to work safely.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of practical toolkits for management teams to access.
  • Support learning and development events/project initiatives as required across the Trust.
  • Provide guidance and support in respect of change management initiatives, including restructures, TUPE transfers, workforce planning, ensuring compliance with employment law and minimising risks associated with change

We are open to applications from HR Specialists looking to side-step into the field of Education, however, the role would be best suited to an individual with prior experience within HR in Education.

Your place of work would be based in the HR office at one of the Secondary School sites in Milton Keynes in a separated building. You will have access to free parking as well as school based hours and holidays.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
