About The Team

The People and Capability Team are part of the Corporate Centre Group that delivers a wide range of corporate services to enable people at HM Treasury and other organisations within the Treasury Group, including the Government Internal Audit Agency and the Debt Management Office, to operate effectively and efficiently.

The team provides services in Recruitment, Onboarding, Employee Lifecycle Processing, HR Policy, Workforce Planning, Case Work, HR Business Partnering, Pay and Reward, Learning and Development, Pensions, and People Strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop HR operational management experience during a time of transformation and innovation in services.

About The Job
  • Oversee fast-paced, high-volume day-to-day service delivery, ensuring effective work distribution and processing to meet time and quality standards.
  • Line-manage 2 team members, supporting their development, performance, and wellbeing.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex transactional HR queries, providing timely and accurate guidance.
  • Sign off on complex HR and pay-related activities.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including service teams, HR policy specialists, external HR teams, business partners, and senior management to facilitate effective HR service delivery.
  • Operationalise HR policies and service improvement initiatives, ensuring robust processes.
  • Support team upskilling in behavioral and technical areas to meet evolving HR demands.
About You

You will be responsible for the effective delivery of transactional HR services within our Employee Lifecycle and HR Helpdesk Team, which processes activities such as ministerial change, exit, family leave, outbound loan, secondment, and changes to working hours, adhering to departmental HR policies and payroll deadlines.

You will manage your team to deliver high-quality, timely HR and payroll activities, utilize credible information sources for decision-making, and work with your team to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
