Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated HR Officer - Employee Relations Specialist to join our team in Bournemouth. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced public sector environment. You will work independently with support from an experienced HR team.

About you:

  • Associate CIPD qualification
  • At least two years' experience advising on HR policies and processes
  • Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, and absence procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively to improve service quality and support colleagues

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage human resource and employee relations issues in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements (e.g., disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance)
  • Conduct investigations into personnel matters
  • Assist in developing and managing HR procedures, record keeping, and reporting
  • Coordinate responses to requests under legislation such as data protection and freedom of information
  • Liaise with department managers on sickness absence and Occupational Health issues
  • Prepare absence management reports for case review panels
