A leading food manufacturing client in Northampton is seeking an HR Officer to provide strategic HR support and advice within the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing employee relations, compliance, and recruitment while working closely with management to ensure a positive workplace environment. Applicants must be CIPD qualified or part-qualified and have experience in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Ashley Kate HR is working with a busy food manufacturing client based in Northampton, seeking a HR Officer.

In this role, you will work closely with managers and employees, acting as a trusted HR partner within the business. You will be an integral part of the HR team, building strong relationships to provide practical guidance on HR matters.

Salary: Up to £41,000 per annum

Type: Full-time, Permanent, onsite 5 days a week. Flexibility required for twilight shifts at least once a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Managing Employee Relations: Ensure managers understand and apply policies fairly, balancing legal requirements with business needs, and suggest process improvements.
  2. Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to identify and address issues early.
  3. Assist during disciplinary, grievance, and appeal meetings, including investigations, guidance, note-taking, and confirming outcomes.
  4. Provide HR advice on disciplinary issues, grievances, and performance concerns, ensuring compliance with employment law and policies.
  5. Manage Absence: Apply attendance procedures consistently.
  6. Recruitment: Collaborate with managers to monitor staffing, identify gaps, and review key roles.
  7. Training: Support on-site training sessions for managers.
  8. Engagement: Prepare KPI reports and serve as the main contact for employee questions.

About You:

  • CIPD qualified or part-qualified at Level 5
  • Experience in manufacturing or fast-paced environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems
