HR Officer

Are you an HR generalist looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic organisation?

A leading local organisation is seeking an experienced HR Officer to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role

As HR Officer, you will provide comprehensive generalist HR support across all areas of the organisation. Working closely with leadership and line managers, you'll deliver practical, people-focused advice to support business goals, employee engagement, and compliance with employment legislation.

The main responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, ensuring advice is aligned with employment law and internal policy
  • Support the administration and delivery of the full recruitment and onboarding process, including job descriptions, adverts, shortlisting, interviews, offers, and inductions
  • Ensure accurate and confidential management of employee records and applicant tracking systems
  • Monitor the probationary process, ensuring timely reviews and appropriate follow-up
  • Assist with the coordination and promotion of training and development programmes across the business
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant employment legislation and internal procedures
  • Support employee engagement activities and coordinate internal social events
  • Advise and support line managers with disciplinary, grievance, and absence management processes
  • Provide guidance on day-to-day HR matters, ensuring consistency and fairness in the application of policies
  • Monitor and manage absenteeism, conducting return-to-work interviews and identifying trends
  • Assist with the completion of the annual Equal Opportunities Return and other required reports
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures

The ideal candidate

  • Proven experience in an HR generalist role, ideally within the manufacturing or similarly fast paced industry.
  • Experience managing all HR functions, and end-to-end ER cases.
  • Good understanding of NI & ROI employment legislation
  • CIPD qualified or relevant degree preferred.
