HR Manager - UK

As the first Human Resources employee in Europe, this individual must be a strong self-starter with a growth mindset. This role will partner directly with cross-functional teams to support the stores across the UK. It involves building out the Retail People processes, policies, and compliance across the UK market, as well as supporting strategic talent growth.

Job Duties:

  1. Provide support, thought partnership, and coaching to management and employees on human resources matters, policies & procedures, and employment law.
  2. Conduct investigations into complex employee relations issues and partner with business leaders on resolutions.
  3. Assist in employee queries and work with the HR team to support processes across the employee lifecycle.
  4. Develop strong cross-functional partnerships with leaders to become a trusted business partner in retail.
  5. Partner with Legal counsel to roll out Retail Handbooks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws.
  6. Launch North American HR initiatives and programs across European stores for consistency.
  7. Support local recruitment efforts and build tools for future effectiveness.
  8. Develop HR programs (Benefits, Leave, Health & Safety, Payroll, etc.) aligned with company culture and local legislation.
  9. Assist with professional development programs, talent assessment tools, and performance reviews.
  10. Support and develop an HR team that provides world-class partnership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of employment law across the UK; familiarity with European laws is a plus.
  • Experience in retail and with a global company; multi-European country experience is a plus.
  • Previous team management experience.
  • 5–7 years in HR Manager or Business Partner roles.
  • Experience supporting hourly employee groups.
  • Experience in retail or high-volume, field-facing environments.
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, ADP, Cornerstone, Greenhouse, Microsoft Office systems is a plus.
