HR Manager – Charity Sector

Watford

Up to £40,000 + Excellent Benefits

An exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Manager who may currently be working as a HR Officer or Generalist to join a respected charitable organisation in Watford, offering a salary of up to £40,000 plus excellent benefits. You’ll be joining a vibrant team passionate about delivering inclusive community programmes in areas such as education, health, social inclusion, and wellbeing. This is a fantastic role for a HR professional who thrives in a purpose-led environment and enjoys shaping and evolving people strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all HR operations, including development and implementation of HR policies and systems.
  • Provide strategic HR support to senior leadership, including recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit interviews.
  • Lead the organisation’s People Strategy and associated initiatives.
  • Support and line-manage key HR-related staff across Learning & Development, EDI, Compliance, and Business Support.

What Experience is Required

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent) with experience in a similar HR generalist role.
  • Strong understanding of HR legislation and best practices.
  • Understand of safeguarding would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and implement strategic HR projects.
  • Driving license and vehicle to travel between sites.

Location
This role is based in Watford however there may be flexibility to work from home if needed.

The role is easily commutable from: Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Harrow, Rickmansworth, Borehamwood, Bushey, and North London.
