HR Manager – Creative Industry | London | £55-60k (or £80-85k pro rata for fractional role)

Are you a dynamic HR professional ready to shape the people strategy of a small and fast-growing, creative organisation? An owner-led company in the arts and culture sector is seeking an experienced standalone HR Manager to join their team in London. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a purpose-driven business that champions creativity and innovation.

About the Role

This is a standalone HR role reporting directly to the Managing Director and Board. You’ll be responsible for leading the full HR function, from strategic planning to operational delivery. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to drive a high-performance culture, support employee development, and ensure compliance with employment law and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement people strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Manage employee relations, performance management, and organisational change.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and talent development initiatives.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and reward strategies.
  • Maintain and enhance HR policies, systems, and compliance.
  • Support learning and development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

About You

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified with strong generalist HR experience.
  • Proven track record in standalone HR roles, ideally within SMEs.
  • Skilled in employment law, GDPR, and change management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

Location: London-based with hybrid working

Salary: £55-60k depending on experience

Fractional Option: £80-85k pro rata (3.5 days/week)
