Contract: 12-month fixed-term, full-time

I’m working with a innovative UK Law firm who are seeking a confident and capable HR Manager to join their People & Culture team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across both operational HR and strategic projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior HR Manager and wider team to deliver high-quality support across the firm, helping to shape and deliver key initiatives.

With significant transformation on the horizon-including the implementation of a new HRIS-you’ll be a key player in driving improvements, managing change, and delivering value to the business. This role requires someone who can quickly build trust with stakeholders and contribute meaningfully from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, working closely with HR Administrators to ensure an excellent service is delivered.

  • Provide HR advice and coaching to employees and senior stakeholders.

  • Manage and support employee relations matters, escalating complex issues as needed.

  • Support the delivery of the firm’s annual performance review cycle, including training and communications.

  • Offer guidance on HR policies and assist with making fair, consistent decisions.

  • Collaborate with leaders across departments on key priorities and change initiatives.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the HR strategy, bringing new ideas and insight.

  • Lead the firm’s wellbeing agenda and help coordinate relevant activities and communications.

  • Play a role in supporting the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.

  • Support the rollout of a new HRIS and contribute to broader process improvements.

  • Line manage and mentor HR Administrators, supporting their growth and development.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Experience operating at HR Manager level, ideally within professional services or a legal environment.

  • A commercial mindset with the ability to build credibility quickly with senior stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, confident advice.

  • Approachable, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure.

  • Comfortable balancing strategic input with hands-on delivery.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected law firm during a time of exciting change and growth. If you enjoy delivering meaningful HR support in a dynamic, people-focused environment, this could be a great fit.
