Executive Network Group is seeking a Senior HR Manager for a major manufacturing site in Hereford. You will lead the HR function, partner with senior leaders, and be heavily involved in day-to-day HR delivery on-site five days per week.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive HR leadership experience in manufacturing, strong employee and industrial relations skills, and a proven track record of partnering with operations to improve workplace performance.

Are you an experienced HR leader with a background in manufacturing, engineering or another complex industrial environment?

We are working with a leading global manufacturing organisation to appoint an experienced Senior HR Manager for a significant manufacturing operation based in Hereford.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on HR leadership role, offering the opportunity to lead the people agenda for an established manufacturing site employing over 400 people.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the site's HR function and act as a trusted adviser to senior operational leaders.

This is not purely a strategic HR role. We are looking for a leader who enjoys being visible within the operation, engaging with employees and managers and remaining actively involved in the day‑to‑day delivery of HR.

Leading a small HR team, you will take responsibility for the full employee lifecycle and a broad range of strategic and operational HR activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Partnering with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team on people and organisational priorities.
• Leading and developing a small, established HR team.
• Providing expert advice and guidance across employee and industrial relations.
• Managing complex disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence matters.
• Building and maintaining constructive relationships with trade union representatives.
• Supporting organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Driving improvements in leadership capability, employee engagement and organisational performance.
• Supporting talent management, succession planning and employee development.
• Monitoring and improving key HR metrics, including absence, turnover and headcount.
• Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and corporate HR policies and procedures.
• Maintaining a highly visible presence across the manufacturing operation.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded HR professional who can operate confidently within a fast‑paced and challenging manufacturing environment.

You are likely to have experience as a:

• Senior HR Manager
• Head of HR
• Site HR Manager
• HR Manager
• Senior HR Business Partner

You will ideally bring:

• Significant HR experience within manufacturing, engineering or another complex industrial environment.
• Strong employee relations and industrial relations experience.
• Previous experience working with trade unions.
• Experience managing and developing an HR team.
• A track record of partnering with senior operational leaders.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience supporting organisational change and business improvement.
• Confidence working with HR metrics and management information.
• The ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders appropriately.

Please Note

This is a fully site-based role in Hereford, requiring on site attendance five days per week. Candidates must therefore be within a realistic commuting distance or willing to relocate.
