Job description

Quest Employment are currently recruiting for a HR Manager for a 4* hotel based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. As the HR Manager, your role will be vital for HR operations and people management, from employee culture and engagement, training and development, through to ensuring compliance with employment law. The role:

  1. To support all aspects of the Human Resources function within the hotel.
  2. To be instrumental in managing the life cycle of our employees, from recruitment, induction, performance and conduct management to exit interviews.
  3. To lead and enhance the employee culture and engagement, maintaining the alignment with the companies' vision and values.
  4. To be knowledgeable in employment law, with the ability to guide and support the management team.
  5. Be involved in identifying training, to continue the development of our employees at all levels while enhancing the service provided to our guests.
  6. To build relationships with local colleges, universities and the local community.
  7. Ensure the HR function and team is aligned with the business objectives.
  8. Introduce and drive change management initiatives and incentive plans.
  9. Lead and drive succession planning to proactively understand staffing needs. Carry out regular assessments, including team mapping to assess both recruitment and development needs, building engagement and retention plans to retain and develop our teams.
  10. Keep the culture of the property alive and kicking by promoting a fair, safe and inclusive environment and supporting with initiatives that inspire, motivate, engage and empower the team.
  11. Unleash talent potential, collaborate closely with department heads to design learning opportunities and bespoke career paths.
  12. Inspire leadership - shape their People strategy and drive the business forward.

You:

  1. Preferably a bachelor's degree in human resources level 5 or above.
  2. A minimum of 10 years' experience in the field of Human Resources with management experience. If you have a background in hospitality this would be preferred but not essential.
