Job Description

Join a highly respected manufacturing business as Interim HR Manager, covering a 12-14 month maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional to step into a truly generalist leadership role within a collaborative and well-established team.

The Role: As Interim HR Manager, you'll be responsible for the full HR remit, supporting a varied workforce. You'll lead and work alongside a capable HR Officer, providing operational and strategic HR support to the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day HR operations, managing everything from employee relations to recruitment and training.
  • Provide advice and guidance to line managers on HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee absence management, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
  • Take ownership of mid- to senior-level recruitment activity.
  • Support and develop the HR Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company procedures.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve HR documentation and records.
  • Contribute to HR projects.

About You:

  • Proven experience in an HR Manager role (5+ years minimum).
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, regulated, and operational environment.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or similar sector preferred.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualified (or working towards); open to Level 5 for the right person.
  • A practical, approachable HR leader who is happy to roll up their sleeves.
  • Confident advising managers and working autonomously.
