Job description
Overview

HR Manager – Location: Oxford, on-site role at John Radcliffe Hospital. Working hours: Monday to Friday (09:00 – 17:00).

We’re looking for an HR Manager to support Mitie’s operations at John Radcliffe Hospital, working with a workforce of approximately 600 colleagues, including contingent workers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in NHS HR policies and procedures—perhaps in an HR administrative or advisory role—who’s looking to grow into a more strategic and hands-on position. Please note that due to the nature of the role, you will be required on site five days a week.

Responsibilities
  • Be a key point of contact for HR matters on site, supporting line managers and ensuring alignment with NHS Trust policies
  • Report on HR lifecycle activities to on-site management and the client
  • Coach and advise on employee relations and HR best practices
  • Support performance management and absence processes
  • Contribute to workforce planning and engagement initiatives
  • Lead small-scale HR projects aligned with operational goals
Qualifications and attributes
  • Hold CIPD Level 3 or 5 (or be working towards)
  • Experience in a HR role at administrative or junior advisory level
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • A collaborative mindset with a calm, empathetic approach
  • Analytical skills with knowledge of producing reporting
