Job Overview

The HR Manager will play a strategic and operational role in leading the human resources function across the organisation. This position requires a proactive, experienced individual capable of overseeing the full spectrum of HR services from recruitment and employee engagement to policy implementation and strategic workforce planning. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills and have hands-on experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or Salesforce.

This is a pivotal role that directly supports the company's growth and culture, ensuring that the organisation remains compliant, inclusive, and employee focused.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the HR department in delivering a comprehensive HR service to the business.

Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business strategy.

Oversee the recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, job postings, interviewing, and onboarding.

Guide and support managers on performance management, employee relations, and development planning.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and ensure HR practices comply with legal requirements.

Manage and enhance HRIS systems for improved data tracking and employee lifecycle management.

Design, update, and oversee employee handbooks, contracts, and HR policies.

Implement and manage staff benefits schemes, including pensions, insurance, and health initiatives.

Monitor and report on HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, absence trends) and advise on improvements.

Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across the organisation.

Plan and execute staff training, development programmes, and new employee inductions.

Conduct regular audits and risk assessments related to staff welfare, health & safety, and compliance.

Manage sensitive or complex investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters.

Lead internal communications related to organisational changes or HR-related updates.

Act as a strategic partner to senior management and department heads.



Requirements

Proven experience in a Human Resources Manager or Senior HR Officer role (minimum 3–5 years).

Strong understanding of UK employment legislation, HR best practices, and GDPR compliance.

Demonstrated experience in managing a team and overseeing HR operations at a strategic level.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

CIPD Level 5 or above (preferred).

Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or Salesforce.

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and payroll systems.

Commercial awareness with an ability to align HR solutions with business needs.

Outstanding organisational and multitasking abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicting priorities.

Experience in performance management frameworks and continuous improvement.

Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
