Job description

Our leading international law firm client has an extremely exciting opportunity for a HR Manager to join their London office on a temp to perm basis. This position will be joining a friendly and established HR team responsible for the recruitment, retention, and development of the Firm's employees in London. They handle all employee relations matters, providing advice and support to ensure performance management is carried out in a timely and appropriate manner, including assisting with general training issues.

Key duties will include:
  1. Acting as a key business partner to the London office, under the Director of HR, providing support to partners, counsel, and associate populations in a HR generalist capacity.
  2. Dealing with all employee relations issues, including grievance, disciplinary, absence management, and performance management.
  3. Assisting with the compensation and benefits package for the London office, linking salary/bonus to benefits and rewards, and working with the Senior HR Manager, Compensation, Benefits & Wellness Specialist, and Recruitment Manager to ensure competitiveness and market leadership.
  4. Supporting the Senior HR Manager in coordinating annual salary and bonus review processes.
  5. Managing the annual fee earner and business services/secretarial evaluation processes in conjunction with the Senior HR Manager.
  6. Managing secondment and transfer processes with the Senior HR Manager and HR Officer.
  7. Keeping up to date with changes to Pensions regulations and assisting with implementing these changes.
  8. Supporting policy review, development, and implementation, and monitoring their effectiveness.
  9. Managing Workday and project planning as necessary.
  10. Conducting exit interviews for all leavers, with follow-up as required.
  11. Handling immigration and visa applications and related issues.
  12. Participating in D&I initiatives and becoming a member of an Inclusion Committee sub-committee.
  13. Delivering interview skills and performance review training as appropriate.
  14. Staying updated with employment law changes.
  15. Supporting additional HR projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience working in a law firm.
  • Available immediately.
  • Credible, self-motivated, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and contribute fully.
  • A meticulous, detail-oriented approach with a commercial outlook.
  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with an outgoing and friendly manner.
  • Robust character, able to interact politely and constructively at all levels.
  • The ideal candidate will be CIPD level 5 qualified or above, and ideally degree educated or equivalent.
