Job description

Human Resources Manager

Industry: Manufacturing

Location: Gloucester - office based

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000

Can you operate as a stand-alone HR Manager? Do you have the experience and capability to perform a role where you are a member of the top team working closely with the Managing Director at the same time as carrying out day-to-day HR activities? Do you want to create the HR strategy that you will then implement? Can you drive change?

We have been retained to find an HR Manager for a manufacturing company of circa 60 employees. Part of a wider group organisation, the Gloucester site is on a transformational journey with people at its heart. Employee engagement and employee development will be key drivers in improving efficiency and winning new business.

This role requires an HR all-rounder who can bring with them experience across a breadth of areas including:

  1. Employee engagement
  2. Employee relations
  3. Resourcing
  4. Learning and development
  5. Performance management
  6. Workforce planning
  7. HR systems
A big focus of the role will be advising, coaching and developing line managers to positively and consistently manage their people.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of employment law and a good commercial understanding of HR's impact within a business. Your HR experience will ideally include a manufacturing environment or similar, and CIPD qualifications will be advantageous to your application.

Communication, both written and verbal, will be a core strength, and you will have the ability to build collaborative working relationships across the company. Strong influencing skills, flexibility, and a 'can do' attitude are all essential.

The salary on offer will be negotiable depending on the skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the position.
