HR Manager

Our client, a reputable law firm, is seeking a dedicated and professional HR Manager to join the team. This is a full-time role and will be based near Eastbourne, although will occasionally require travel to other East Sussex offices. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the legal and support teams with a wide range of HR responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide timely support to employees of all levels on various HR issues.
  2. Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, ensuring seamless processes in line with HR best practice.
  3. Handle statutory HR requests and family-friendly leave requests.
  4. Oversee informal and formal HR processes, including grievance, disciplinary, underperformance, and sickness absence.
  5. Review and update HR policies and procedures in line with best practice and legislation changes.
  6. Collaborate with line managers to manage the annual employee appraisal process.
  7. Organise employee training and development at all levels.
  8. Conduct anonymous staff engagement surveys and report findings.
  9. Manage and update the HR database, People HR.
  10. Provide relevant data to Accounts for monthly payroll purposes.
  11. Report regularly to the Practice Director.
Qualifications:
  1. CIPD level 5 qualification (ideal) but lower/higher may also be considered.
  2. Prior experience at a similar level (ideally within a legal setting, although not a requirement).
  3. Full UK driving license and access to a car.
Day-to-day:

As the HR Manager, you will work closely with the Practice Director, line managers, and other team members to ensure the smooth running of HR processes and procedures. This will involve handling employee queries, managing HR documentation, organising training, and collaborating with various departments.
