Job summary

Casanovas Recruitment is looking for an experienced HR Manager to join a growing business in the Colchester area. You will provide day-to-day HR support across the full employee lifecycle and help shape the HR function.

With around 150 employees, the role involves advising managers on employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, policies, and compliance with UK employment law. This hands-on position offers a real opportunity to implement positive change, build processes, and become a long-term

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
• Vast generalist HR experience.
• Strong employee relations experience.
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence dealing with sensitive and complex matters.
• Ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Managing and advising on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance.
• Supporting and coaching line managers with people-related issues.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and probation processes.
• Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures and processes.
• Ensuring HR practices remain compliant with UK employment legislation.
• Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing, training and development initiatives.
• Providing HR reports and updates to senior management.
• Supporting payroll with HR-related queries.
• Working with external HR/legal advisers on more complex matters.
• Supporting wider HR projects and organisational change.

Casanovas Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a growing and very well-established business in the Colchester area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who wants to make a genuine impact and help shape the HR function. Working across a workforce of around 150 employees, you’ll provide day-to-day HR support while also developing and improving people processes, policies and practices.

The Role

you’ll act as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees, providing advice and support across the full employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

About You

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional with:

• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
• Vast generalist HR experience.
• Strong employee relations experience.
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence dealing with sensitive and complex matters.
• The ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees.
• Experience in manufacturing/production and shift workers would be an advantage.
• A proactive, practical approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
