Job Description

As the HR Manager, you will be Responsible for the successful delivery of the People Strategy as well as being part of the Senior Team. You will:

  • Lead the HR team in providing first-line HR support across the business
  • Drive the HR agenda and contributing to business success
  • Develop and initiate strategies to recruit, engage and retain talent
  • Develop and implement a performance driven culture
  • Manage Payroll for all staff on site
  • Lead the Training and Development programme on site delivering core training programmes, development programmes and skills development
  • Advise and improve their recognition and reward programmes
  • Oversee training and career development
  • Create and lead on projects to improve HR reporting, processes, and systems
  • Ensure compliance with UK Employment Laws
  • Coach managers on employee relations including disciplinaries, grievance and performance management
  • Lead on policy & procedures, reward, HRIS, TUPE, leadership development and other specific projects
  • Manage employee relations processes to ensure that grievance and disciplinary issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
  • Ensure the appraisal process is delivered, manage development and personal progression, manage poor performance through employee development or contract termination, monitor absence and ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement in business performance.
  • Lead on Union negotiations, annual pay negotiations, consultations and management of terms and conditions.
  • Lead on TUPE and redundancy consultations.
  • Take responsibility for successful delivery of Department and Company restructures.

The Successful Applicant

The successful HR Manager should have:

  • Significant experience working in a People (HR) function -Manufacturing or similar industry would be an advantage.
  • Experience of end to end recruitment including advertising, interviewing, candidate assessment and final offer
  • Employee relations knowledge and practice
  • Accuracy in People administration and use of HR platforms (HRIS, Payroll and clocking systems, Benefits portals)
  • Experience managing payroll and employee benefits Experience covering the whole HR remit - Employee Relations, Onboarding, Training & development, Union Negotiations, Management of short and long term absence
  • Reporting of HR KPI's at a senior level
  • Ability to demonstrate influencing skills
  • Confident in own ability and decision making
  • Curious to challenge the status quo
