Job summary

Jobs4 is hiring an HR & Learning Advisor in the West of England. The role provides proactive HR advice and leads learning and development initiatives within the People team.

We seek CIPD Level 5-qualified professionals with strong HR business partnering experience, data-driven decision making, and a genuine passion for colleague development. The position is 6 months fixed-term with a view to permanence and offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation.
  • Experience in HR advisory or business partnering.
  • Experience coaching and influencing managers on ER and people matters.
  • Experience supporting talent management and colleague development.
  • Experience producing and interpreting HR metrics.
  • Experience managing HR projects and organisational change.
  • Genuine interest in learning and development with design/delivery experience.
  • Experience creating learning materials, resources, workshops or digital content would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Coaching-led approach to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Highly organised, proactive and capable of prioritising.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive HR advice to managers and colleagues across a broad range of people matters.
  • Build relationships with managers and senior stakeholders as a trusted HR partner.
  • Coach managers on sickness absence, wellbeing, performance, conduct and ER matters.
  • Advise on recruitment, workforce planning, redesign, succession, rewards and policies.
  • Contribute to People Strategy and HR initiatives.
  • Support colleague engagement, wellbeing and inclusion efforts.
  • Lead design and delivery of engaging L&D programmes meeting org and individual needs.
  • Create learning resources like workshops, guides and digital content.
  • Identify L&D needs and evaluate impact of interventions.
  • Support talent development, careers, succession and leadership development.
  • Lead HR projects and change initiatives.
  • Own onboarding and induction programme improvements.
  • Collaborate with People team to deliver high-quality service.

HR & Learning Advisor

Salary: £38,000 + competitive benefits

Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of a permanent role thereafter

We are working with an established and values-led organisation that is committed to creating a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace, with a strong focus on supporting and developing its people.

We are looking for an HR & Learning Advisor to join the People team and provide a proactive, commercially focused HR service alongside leading and delivering engaging learning and development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys a varied role and is particularly passionate about L&D, talent and colleague development.

The Role

  • Provide proactive and professional HR advice and guidance to managers and colleagues across a broad range of people matters.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted HR business partner and providing practical solutions.
  • Coach and support managers with sickness absence, wellbeing, performance, conduct, capability and employee relations matters.
  • Provide advice on recruitment, workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning, reward and benefits, policies and employment legislation.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the People Strategy and wider HR initiatives.
  • Support colleague engagement, wellbeing, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Lead the design, development and delivery of engaging learning and development programmes that meet organisational and individual needs.
  • Create innovative learning resources including workshops, toolkits, guides, digital content and development pathways.
  • Identify learning and development needs and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of learning interventions.
  • Support talent development, career progression, succession planning and future leadership development.
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects and organisational change initiatives.
  • Take ownership of the design and continuous improvement of the colleague induction and onboarding programme.
  • Work collaboratively across the wider People team to deliver a high-quality service and drive continuous improvement.

About You

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified, or equivalent HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and confidence providing practical HR advice.
  • Experience working in an HR advisory or business partnering capacity.
  • Experience coaching and influencing managers on employee relations and people matters.
  • Experience supporting talent management and colleague development initiatives.
  • Experience producing and interpreting HR management information and using data to inform decisions.
  • Experience managing HR projects and supporting organisational change.
  • A genuine interest in learning and development, with experience designing and/or delivering engaging learning initiatives.
  • Experience creating learning materials, resources, workshops, guides or digital content would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the confidence to engage audiences at different levels.
  • A coaching-led approach, with the ability to influence managers and stakeholders effectively.
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
  • A self-starter who is comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, colleague development and continuous improvement.
  • Creative, curious and open to new approaches to learning and people development.
