Job summary

The Tank Museum in Bovington, UK, is seeking an HR Generalist to join as People Administrator on a permanent full-time basis. You will provide advice across a broad range of people matters and help administer key HR processes for employees and volunteers.

You will support recruitment, onboarding, payroll, learning and development, wellbeing, performance, and payroll administration, with on-site work required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a generalist HR role.
• Experience advising managers, employees and volunteers.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
• Experience supporting employee relations processes (absence, disciplinary, grievance or performance).
• Experience with recruitment and onboarding activities.
• Ability to manage HR databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional HR service to managers, employees and volunteers across the museum.
• Be the first point of contact for day-to-day people queries and guidance on policies.
• Assist in the monthly payroll process.
• Support managers through the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance, development, offboarding).
• Coordinate recruitment activities and onboarding for vacancies; support pre-employment checks.
• Administer onboarding for new employees and volunteers; keep documentation & induction up to date.
• Maintain accurate employee and volunteer records.
• Support employee relations matters: letters, meetings, notes.
• Provide pastoral support to apprentices across the museum.
• Coordinate work experience placements with schools and internal departments.
• Maintain accurate training records.
