Castle HR and Training Solutions are an outsourced HR services provider, part of the Castle Employment Group – proudly recognised by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work in 2024. We partner with SMEs across Yorkshire to deliver expert, commercially focused HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle. We're looking for a proactive and driven HR Consultant to join our busy team.

The role of HR Consultant

The role brings something new every day. From advising on recruitment or drafting documentation, guiding a client through performance issues, restructures, TUPE processes or complex exits. You will be providing clear, practical HR advice that businesses can trust. Building strong relationships and delivering the right support exactly when it’s needed.

Your role as HR Consultant
  • Acting as a trusted HR partner to SME clients, delivering commercial, pragmatic, and solutions-focused HR advice.
  • Managing a diverse HR caseload, ensuring compliance with employment law while providing tailored support.
  • Advising on a range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, restructure, recruitment, and retention.
  • Engaging with clients via phone, email, and video, with regular on-site visits.
  • Managing client accounts including contract renewal discussions – negotiation skills and commercial acumen will be key.
What we need
  • HR experience with up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application in business settings.
  • Experience managing multiple HR issues, from general and complex ER issues to recruitment and restructures.
  • Confident communicator: able to advise senior leaders and managers clearly, calmly, and professionally.
  • A self-motivated and highly organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple issues and deliver results.
  • Commercially minded and solution-focused, understanding both client and business needs.
  • Client-focused, with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Skills & Experience
  • CIPD level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience managing multiple workloads simultaneously.
  • Excellent understanding of current UK Employment Law.
  • Knowledge of HR software, ideally Breathe HR.
Why choose Castle HR & Training Solutions

  • Variety and Impact: Work with diverse industries, solving unique challenges and making a real difference for businesses and their people.
  • Award-Winning Culture: Be part of Castle Employment Group, recognised by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work in 2024.
  • Grow your Career: Access to personal development and ongoing learning.
  • Values Led Business: Join a business that is led by its values and driven by its purpose of giving back to Yorkshire.
  • Benefits that benefit you: Flexible benefits scheme, enhanced holiday entitlement with buy and sell options, access to training and development, CSR day to volunteer, annual pay reviews, birthday off, team days out, and annual celebrations.
