Job summary

Netbox Recruitment Ltd partners with a growing HR consultancy to recruit a Senior HR Consultant / HR Business Partner. The role covers employee relations, grievances, recruitment, onboarding and policy development with a practical, commercially aware approach.

You’ll work hybrid from Chatham with client sites around Kent, providing hands-on HR advice both remotely and on client premises. The successful candidate will become the owner’s trusted right-hand and may share in the business as it grows.

Are you an experienced HR professional who wants more than a traditional HR role?

We're working with a growing HR consultancy, established three years ago, with ambitious plans for the future.

They work with SMEs and micro-businesses of up to 100 employees, providing practical, commercially focused HR support that helps business owners navigate their people challenges and achieve their wider business objectives.

The team is small, currently just four people, and they're looking for a senior HR professional to become a key part of the business and a trusted right-hand person to the owner.

The role

You’ll work closely with business owners and managers, providing hands-on HR support across:

• Employee relations and complex HR matters


• Grievance, disciplinary and performance processes


• Recruitment and onboarding


• Absence and capability


• Policies, procedures and compliance


• Employee development and retention


• Day-to-day HR advice and support


• More complex and commercially sensitive people issues

You’ll work both remotely and on client sites, becoming someone clients can rely on when they need practical, sensible HR advice.

The consultancy isn't simply there to tell clients what they can't do.

They work alongside business owners to understand what they're trying to achieve and then find the most commercially sensible, pragmatic and legally appropriate way of getting there.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• An experienced HR professional with strong cradle-to-grave HR experience


• Confident handling ER and more complex HR situations


• Commercially aware and able to understand the pressures facing SME owners


• Pragmatic, adaptable and solutions-focused


• Excellent at building trust and strong client relationships


• Proactive and comfortable taking ownership


• Someone who can work independently without needing constant direction


• Confident attending client sites and dealing directly with business owners


• A natural problem solver who focuses on resolution and results


• Comfortable working in a small, growing business where things can change quickly
