Role Purpose
- Provide commercially focused, best‑practice HR and employment law advice across a range of day‑to‑day and complex issues.
- Support clients to review, enhance and scale their HR frameworks, policies and people practices.
- For an experienced Consultant/HR Professional: lead high‑impact, complex client projects, ensuring strong stakeholder alignment and delivering strategic, measurable outcomes.
- For a developing Consultant: support project delivery while progressively building the capability and confidence to manage more complex assignments independently.
- Advise and coach management teams on the application of HR policies, and support effective recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee development.
- Support clients to build inclusive, engaging and values‑led workplace cultures.
- Act as a trusted advisor and first point of contact for HR queries, mentoring line managers and building their confidence and capability.
- Research and implement practical, cost‑effective HR tools and solutions that improve efficiency and add value.
- Contribute to business development activity, including representing AAB at events and supporting client engagement initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
Experienced Consultant (typically 4+ years HR experience or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to apply HR expertise across employee relations and employment legislation in complex scenarios.
- Experience leading or owning HR projects and delivering outcomes for clients or stakeholders.
- Strong track record of translating technical HR knowledge into clear, practical, commercially sound and best‑practice advice.
Developing Consultant (typically 2+ years experience)
- Solid foundation in HR practice, particularly employee relations and employment legislation.
- Experience providing HR advice in a support or advisory capacity.
- Demonstrated potential to develop into a more senior, client‑facing consultancy role.

Qualifications
- Degree‑qualified in a relevant business or HR discipline, with CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or working towards this, or equivalent through relevant experience.
