Job summary

Royal Mail is looking for an experienced HR Change Lead to support large-scale change programmes across Operations. You will work with senior leaders to design organisation structures, workforce plans and role design that align with strategic objectives.

This fixed-term role is based at the Midlands Super Hub in Crick, hybrid with four days in the office and one day remote, with regular travel to London as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing HR change and transformation programmes within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong organisation design and workforce planning experience.
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and people change processes.
  • Strong project and change management capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate people-related change activities, including redesign and workforce transitions.
  • Support strategic transformation programmes and organisational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Review and optimise structures to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Maintain organisation design docs, workforce data and charts for governance.
  • Define future role requirements, update job descriptions and coordinate job evaluations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder forums to support change outcomes.
  • Manage risks of change and ensure compliance with employment laws.

Competitive salary plus 18% annual bonus potential (pro rata & subject to eligibility)

Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2027

Location: Royal Mail, Midlands Super Hub, Crick, NN6 7GZ – hybrid with 4 days in the office, 1 day working remote.

Please note – there will be regular travel for meetings in London and as required.

As Royal Mail continues to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of our customers and business, we're looking for a talented HR Change Lead to support complex organisational change programmes across Operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of transformation programmes, working as part of the wider People Change community while partnering with senior leaders to design and implement organisational change that will help create a more effective, efficient and future-focused business.

What You'll Be Doing

As HR Change Lead, you'll support the delivery of large-scale people change initiatives across Operations, ensuring organisational structures, workforce plans and role design support Royal Mail's long-term strategic objectives.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating people-related change activities, including organisational redesign, team integration and workforce transitions.
  • Supporting strategic transformation programmes, including major business integration and organisational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Reviewing and optimising organisational structures to improve efficiency, accountability and ways of working.
  • Maintaining organisation design documentation, workforce data and structure charts to support decision‑making and governance requirements.
  • Partnering with leaders to define future role requirements, update job descriptions and coordinate job evaluations.
  • Facilitating discussions, workshops and stakeholder forums to support successful change outcomes.
  • Managing people-related risks associated with organisational change and ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies and governance requirements.
About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, complex environment and enjoys turning strategic ideas into practical solutions.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience managing HR change and transformation programmes within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong organisation design and workforce planning experience.
  • Experience supporting operating model change, team integrations and organisational redesign.
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and people change processes.
  • Strong project management and change management capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret workforce and organisational data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the resilience and tenacity to see complex change programmes through to completion.
  • Experience of job evaluation processes and organisational job architecture frameworks would be advantageous.
