An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Business Partner to join our People Resources team and become a member of a strong and focused Business Partner team. We are seeking individuals with a creative mindset who are innovative and capable of working in partnership with our managers to transform our business areas, generating new ideas and challenging the status quo when necessary. With over 15,000 employees across the Council, you will need to be committed and determined to succeed in a challenging but thriving environment. In return, you will play a pivotal role in shaping an organization that values its employees, self-development, partnership working, innovative thinking, and workforce planning.
As a key member of the BP team, you will support the business partnership model, ensuring the best people solutions are identified to meet strategic outcomes. Your role will include implementing HR strategies, strategic business partnership initiatives, and managing change projects. Building influential relationships with senior managers is essential, requiring the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility to gain confidence and meet service goals.
A significant aspect of the BP team involves workforce talent identification, succession planning, and addressing HR issues to improve organizational and individual effectiveness, primarily through workforce planning.
Qualifications include a degree/Diploma or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one within a specified timeframe. Membership of CIPD or eligibility for it, or willingness to undertake MCIPD, is required. You should have substantial HR experience, detailed knowledge of Employment Law, HR policies, business systems, and processes. Strong communication, influencing, and negotiating skills are essential, especially when working with managers, employees, and Trade Unions.
