Job Description:

HR Business Partner (12 Month Fixed Term Contract) Location: McCann Campus, Macclesfield (Hybrid) About Us... Ghosts. A swimming pool. 2 mischievous kittens. At McCann Manchester, it’s fair to say we’re a little different. Here the people make the agency, they are what makes our work so unique. That’s why we’re on the look-out for the people who can contribute to creating great work. We’re a creative agency spread across eight acres of countryside in Cheshire, and the rumours are true, we also have a pub, bistro and gym all on-site. We work with some of the UK’s most interesting brands and we’re looking for a HR Business Partner to come and join us. Armbands optional. The Part You’ll Play… McCann Manchester is on the lookout for an HR Business Partner to join us on a fixed term basis until the end of September 2026. This will be a broad role, where you’ll be responsible for partnering with an area of the organisation to support department heads and line managers with their HR requirements, while also working within the wider team to drive the overall HR strategy with a number of projects. What You'll Do ... Reporting into the HR Director, you’ll be aligned with one area of our business, providing a proactive, commercially focussed HR service across both day-to-day employee relations matters, as well as supporting the ongoing HR strategy for the remainder of 2025. We’re a busy team, and you can expect to get involved across a variety of projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, policy and process updates, and supporting our Diversity, Equality and Inclusion plans. Key Responsibilities ...

  • Build and nourish strong working partnerships with department heads and line managers across the agency. You’ll understand their business and challenges and be able to guide them to efficient decision making.
  • Work closely with the HR Director and HR Business Partner to drive the People & Talent Strategy for the agency.
  • Create a brilliant ‘People Experience’ for everyone you come into contact with.
  • Provide expert advice and coach line managers to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Play an active role in driving some of our key Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, identifying any barriers internally to DE&I and actively driving change.
  • Lead and champion our HR compliance program and spearhead the review, revision and creation of HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and that they support our strategic goals and reflect our creative ethos.
  • Own and run with People projects, pushing for creative and innovative solutions to ensure the agency is a great place to work. Projects are likely to include onboarding programme development and creating dashboards and HR metrics to inform data-driven decisions, as well as supporting with Workday implementation and Career Map development.
  • This is just a snapshot of the many things you’ll be involved with at McCann. It’s a varied role in an ever-changing environment, where we can promise that no two days will be the same. As HR Business Partner You’ll Bring…
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role, capable of partnering effectively with Heads of Department / Senior Managers
  • Able to provide commercially focussed solutions and adapt to a creative, flexible working environment
  • Experience in owning HR projects, ideally with exposure across one or more of the following: HRIS implementation, DEI initiatives, compliance / audit processes, HR Analytics / reporting, policy / process updates

  • Personable and able to build relationships quickly
  • As HR Business Partner You’ll Have Access To…

  • An outstanding working environment that really is hard to beat. Based on an 8 acre site, the four main buildings form a campus that includes a subsidised Bistro, free car parking, free access to an onsite gym and an outdoor heated pool (for when the weather gets warmer!).
