About the Job

We are seeking a thoughtful and balanced HR Business Partner (HRBP) (who is also comfortable with HR Generalist work) to join our People team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategic partnership and hands-on HR execution, providing both high-level guidance and dependable day-to-day support.

In this position, you'll need to be equally comfortable engaging in long-term people strategies and navigating the everyday needs of employees and managers. Whether you're coaching leaders on organizational development, addressing employee relations matters, or ensuring smooth execution of HR operations, you'll bring a steady, collaborative approach to all facets of your work.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in HR compliance, employee relations, recruiting, and organizational development, along with the ability to move seamlessly between tactical and strategic responsibilities. You'll also play an active role in shaping company-wide initiatives such as performance management, culture-building, process optimization, and HR technology enhancements.

Responsibilities:

HR Business Partnering

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for Sales, Marketing, Account Management, and Finance teams
  • Provide coaching and strategic guidance to leaders on team development, workforce planning, org design, and change management
  • Partner with leadership on performance management, engagement, and talent development initiatives
  • Collaborate with COEs and cross-functional teams to implement HR strategies aligned with business goals

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Lead employee relations efforts for assigned teams, handling issues with professionalism, discretion, and legal compliance
  • Conduct and document investigations; collaborate with legal or external counsel as needed
  • Drive engagement and retention strategies, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting for assigned functions; partner with hiring managers
  • Manage external recruiting partners and step into hands-on recruiting when needed

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to maintain and regularly update employee handbook, policies, and HR documentation
  • Support compliance with FMLA, ADA, EEO, wage & hour, and other labor regulations
  • Assist with internal audits, reporting, and legal documentation

Company-Wide HR Initiatives

  • Collaborate with the HR Director on organization-wide programs including:
  • Culture-building and employee experience
  • Performance management enhancements
  • Organizational development and change initiatives
  • HR process improvements across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, comp changes, etc.)
  • Evaluate and implement tools, systems, and workflows to scale with company growth
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual HR workflows

Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including generalist and HRBP roles, with some recruiting or talent acquisition background
  • Comfort navigating both strategic priorities and hands-on HR operations, with the flexibility, and drive to contribute as a key member of a small but high-performing HR team
  • Deep understanding of U.S. labor laws and HR compliance across multiple states
  • Experience supporting business functions such as sales, marketing, or finance
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive employee matters with confidentiality and sound judgment
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Track record of leading or contributing to cross-functional HR projects
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) strongly preferred

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience working in remote work environment and for a fast paced, growing company
  • Degree in Business, Communications, HR, or a related discipline is a plus
