Job description

ChampionX is seeking a driven HR Business Partner in Fawley/Southampton, UK. In this position, you will be the focal point for line managers and employees for day-to-day HR advice on employee relations (ER), HR policies and procedures, and employment law application. You will develop and provide policy training and coach line managers to help achieve optimal team performance, ensure understanding of risks to the business, and fair outcomes for employees. What You Will Do:
  • Support the team with day-to-day HR activities, addressing concerns, facilitating communication, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Support recruiting processes, partnering with hiring managers for successful onboarding.
  • Provide timely HR advice on employee queries, performance, absence management, disciplinary, grievance, HR policies, and employment law.
  • Develop and deliver policy, procedure, and good practice coaching, training, and guidance to empower managers.
  • Manage grievance, disciplinary, and capability investigations and hearings, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Conduct internal process audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures across the region.
  • Manage absence cases in conjunction with line managers.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness, including employee data, payroll input, and HR reporting, while ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Maintain records and initiate applications for work permits, visas, etc., to ensure immigration compliance.
  • Support ad hoc projects and suggest ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in developing and administering new HR initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • CIPD Level 5 or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent).
  • 5 years of experience in HR or related field.
  • Good knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Understanding of GDPR and UK employment laws.
  • Experience working with Collective Bargaining Units.
Physical Demands:

This role requires working in a chemical manufacturing plant located within the Fawley Refinery.
