Macmillan Davies is delighted to again be partnering with a large transport company based in London to support on a vital HR Business Partner hire, initially for a period of 6 months - with a view to possibly extend.

It is vital that you have transport experience and also have dealt with trade unions in your previous roles.

This role will suit someone that is available to start quickly and help to make a positive impact on the People Team after a period of transition.

Some key responsibilities are highlighted below.

  • Advising managers on carrying out investigations, disciplinary hearings and grievance meetings, attending meetings and taking notes where appropriate
  • Advising managers in managing sickness absence and restricted cases, both short and long term, attending meetings and taking notes where appropriate
  • Providing comprehensive HR advice to employees and respond to queries relating to their employment and terms and conditions of service
  • Manage and oversee the probation process, supporting the HR Advisor throughout.
  • Ensure the HR Advisor manages the process effectively by advising managers on the probation process and related employment law matters, participating in meetings where necessary and providing support to employees as identified by the manager.
  • Ensure the HR Advisor advises managers on setting probationary SMART objectives and signposting managers to support available for employees as appropriate
  • Assisting People and Culture team in delivering Employee Engagement initiatives. Supporting client groups with their staff engagement plans.
  • Participating in Reward and Recognition processes and initiatives e.g. annual pay review, vouchers scheme as directed by the Senior HR Business Partner
  • Assisting with co-ordination and administration of processes and initiatives as required

This will be a hybrid role for a period of 6 months to begin with.
