A leading M&E Contractor in London is seeking an HR Business Partner for a fixed term contract. This hybrid role involves aligning HR strategies with project objectives, overseeing compliance, and managing employee relations. Qualifications

  • Proven track record in HR Business Partnering or Senior HR Advisory roles, preferably in a project-based or construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and application in a project environment.

  • Deliver all HR/People commitments set out in the project tender and EDI calendar.
  • Advise and guide project management on all ER and culture-related matters.
  • Oversee L&D for the project team, supporting needs identified through PDRs and PDPs.
  • Lead PAYE recruitment and onboarding activities for the project.

Job description

1st Step Solutions are supporting an M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for an HR Business Partner on n a PAYE fixed term contract in Heathrow.

Please note this is a hybrid model of work- 3 days in the office and 2 days at home

The HR Business Partner plays a pivotal role in aligning people strategies with business and project objectives. This includes full HR lifecycle responsibilities such as workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, employee relations and performance management. The HRBP also ensures delivery of the project's social obligations, including community engagement and promoting diversity and inclusion, while enabling operational efficiency through effective people management. Acting as the key liaison between HR and project leadership, the HRBP ensures the people agenda supports the overall success of the project.

Key Responsibilities

* Promote and adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Deliver all HR/People commitments set out in the project tender and EDI calendar.
* Provide accurate HR input for PQQs and tender submissions in the Aviation sector.
* Support and lead on HR project improvement initiatives and wider business HR objectives.
* Advise and guide project management on all ER and culture-related matters.
* Drive robust performance management and manage a full range of ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance, and capability.
* Deliver ER training for managers to build capability and compliance.
* Provide regular HR reports to project leadership.
* Prepare and contribute to the monthly HR/IR/Social Value client report.
* Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships at all levels.
* Oversee L&D for the project team, supporting needs identified through PDRs and PDPs.
* Maintain and manage the Training Matrix and CPD records.
* Promote and oversee usage of the company's e-learning platform
* Lead PAYE recruitment and onboarding activities for the project.
* Coordinate with labour providers, screen and interview candidates, and manage induction planning.
* Collaborate with the People team on employment terms and compliance requirements.
* Ensure timely completion of probation reviews, PDRs, and PDPs.
* Ensure adherence to all company HR policies and procedures on the project.
* Support audits by providing relevant HR and training documentation.

* Experience in end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and compliance (e.g., RTW, visa checks).
* Supports all HSE policies and drives continuous improvement through people practices.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and capable of learning bespoke HR systems.

Qualifications/Credentials:
* Proven track record in HR Business Partnering or Senior HR Advisory roles, preferably in a project-based or construction environment.
* CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent); degree-qualified or qualified by experience.
* Professional Membership CIPD membership desirable.
