Job description
Overview

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full‑time HR Business Partner at a college in Hull, starting as soon as possible and lasting until at least Summer 2026. The role may begin as a 10‑week temporary engagement before transferring to a permanent position. The salary is £37,016, scaled to a daily rate. Working hours are 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, five days a week.

Responsibilities

This role involves strategic leadership and operational delivery of people‑related services at the college:

  • Provide strategic HR guidance, advice and support.
  • Manage complex employee relation cases, ensuring risk mitigation and legal compliance.
  • Lead the appointment of temporary agency staff, securing appropriate authorisation.
  • Assist with operational HR services such as recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining frameworks for absence and disciplinary cases.
  • Deliver multi‑faceted HR activities with room for growth.
Qualifications
  • Chartered member or Fellow of CIPD (Level 7) – ideal but not required.
  • Significant senior HR experience, preferably in the FE sector.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure, overseas police clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • Full CV history.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
Location

Located in Hull, the college is easily accessible by bus and offers an onsite car park for candidates who drive. A large low‑cost car park nearby can be reimbursed in wages.
