Job description

Role

We are seeking an adaptable and people-focused HR Business Partner to support both our Head Office support functions (including Operations, Customer Loyalty, Finance, Marketing, Legal) and our frontline employees in a call centre environment. This dual-facing role requires someone confident in partnering across a variety of employee groups from professional services teams to customer-facing colleagues, ensuring HR solutions are relevant, practical, and aligned with local and organizational needs.

With a focus on line manager capability, employee relations, and the implementation of centrally developed People Plans, this role plays a key part in building a consistent and positive employee experience across all supported teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic HR Partnership
Build effective relationships with department leaders and operational managers across Head Office and the call centre. Understand the unique dynamics of support and frontline teams, adapting HR support accordingly. Partner with stakeholders to develop and deliver people strategies aligned with business objectives.
  2. People Plan Implementation
Deploy and action People Plans and HR initiatives developed by the central HR team, tailoring them for support teams and call centre operations. Support initiatives related to engagement, wellbeing, performance management, and leadership development. Provide feedback on their effectiveness across diverse employee groups.
  3. Line Manager Capability Building
Coach and support line managers to improve confidence and consistency in managing people. Deliver tailored support and training, especially for new or less experienced managers. Promote proactive people management practices and early intervention.
  4. Employee Relations (ER)
Lead or support ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence management. Collaborate with the central ER team to ensure compliance with employment law and policies, reducing risk. Help managers adopt fair, solutions-focused approaches.
  5. Talent, Engagement & Retention
Support engagement and retention strategies for both Head Office and frontline teams. Participate in talent planning, career development, and internal mobility. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
  6. HR Metrics & Reporting
Monitor and analyze key people data (e.g., attrition, absence, case volumes). Provide insights to leaders to inform local people plans.

Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a HR generalist or HRBP role in a fast-paced, multi-function environment.
  • Experience supporting both Head Office support teams and operational/frontline staff, such as contact centres or customer service environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practices.
  • Ability to influence, coach, and upskill line managers.
  • Comfortable working with strategic priorities and operational HR tasks.

Preferred Experience

  • Supporting call centre, customer service, or frontline operational teams.
  • Flexibility in communication style between corporate and frontline audiences.
  • Experience delivering HR projects across multiple departments.

  • Subsidised Bupa Private Healthcare (Dental, Optical, Therapy)
