JOB DESCRIPTION

Your role as a HR Business Partner will support the delivery of the business strategy by driving proactive people solutions across the business. The role will focus on organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

You will build and maintain excellent relationships with internal customers and other stakeholders to ensure best standards of service. This will include providing a professional and responsive HR support service to all colleagues, inc. visiting offices.

You’re experienced in exacting standard setting, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice. You have demonstrable skills in using Microsoft Office applications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Support:

  • Work with the Head of HR to develop and implement HR strategies to meet the company needs.
  • Partner with site and functional leaders to align HR strategies with operational goals.
  • Provide expert HR guidance on organisational design, change management, and workforce planning.
  • Collaborate with senior managers to understand business goals and develop aligned people strategies.
  • Provide HR insights to support data-driven decision making and workforce planning.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Advise and coach managers on employee relations issues (disciplinaries, grievances, capability, etc.), ensuring adherence to current employment law and internal policies.
  • Promote and support initiatives that enhance employee engagement and well-being.
  • Promote a positive working environment through proactive engagement and early conflict resolution.
  • Support investigations, hearings, and appeal processes.

3. HR Project Work

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional HR projects (e.g. HRIS implementation, reward benchmarking, engagement surveys).
  • Contribute to policy reviews and continuous improvement of HR services.

4. Performance & Talent Management:

  • Lead performance management processes and support the development of high-performing teams.
  • Identify talent gaps and support succession planning and career development.

5. Workforce Planning:

  • Collaborate with operations to ensure the company has the right skills and resources to meet production demands.
  • Support recruitment planning and onboarding for new hires.

6. Training & Development:

  • Support with identifying training needs and the implementation of development plans.

7. Metrics and Reporting:

· Track key HR metrics (e.g. ER , time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality of hire) and prepare reports for senior management.

8. Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations and CD policies.
  • Lead on internal and external compliance audits, ensuring regular spot checks are completed on all Company locations.

9. HR Team Support:

· Establish and maintain effective two-way communication with colleagues and customers, and proactively respond to queries in order to further enhance the quality of service delivered by the HR Team.

· To participate in other projects, including business partner type activities, as directed, including participation in multi-disciplinary and cross departmental/organisational working groups and teams

· Keep up-to-date with employment law developments and remain committed to continued professional development

· Professionally handle information of a confidential and critical nature

PERSON SPECIFICATION

All criteria detailed below are essential, unless stated as “D” (desirable).

Education and qualifications

· Level 7 HR equivalent workplace experience essential (the person will be required to work autonomously and at pace)

· Level 7 qualification in HR or willingness to work towards (D)

Experience, knowledge and understanding

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role – ideally in manufacturing.

· Strong understanding of HR legislation best practice and key ER principles.

· Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.

· Familiar with building relationships with stakeholders at various levels, tailoring approach to a variety of audiences (internal and external).

Skills

· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with managers and colleagues.

· Ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.

· Attention to detail and strong organisation skills.

· Ability to work independently and use initiative to manage workload.

· Good time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines and appropriately prioritise tasks.

· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and HRIS (PeopleHR would be an advantage!)
