The Role
CrossCountry is seeking to recruit a HR Business Partner to support our local leadership teams across Wales & West with all aspects of people management activities.
Our coverage spans across Bristol, Bournemouth, Reading and Plymouth and we welcome applications from any of these areas.
Successful applicants will work at both an operational and strategic level within the business, leading the design and delivery of the people plan, ensuring full alignment to the short, medium, and long-term business objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
• Supporting the relevant local leadership teams with all elements of people management activity, including but not limited to absence management, performance management, health, safety and well-being, and equality, diversity and inclusion
• Representing the organisation at local stakeholder groups such as Women in Rail
• Ensuring effective and ongoing resourcing through robust workforce planning
• Leading the local employee engagement agenda, including the design and delivery of effective engagement and communications plans
• Building capability levels through effective training and development needs analysis
• Facilitating and maintaining strong relationships with recognised employee groups and trade unions
• Establishing and maintaining effective people management systems
• Supporting and coaching line managers to ensure compliance to employment law, company policy and recognised best practice
• Ensuring effective performance improvement approaches, including goal setting and reviewing, and management of conduct and capability
• Proactively supporting, encouraging, and demonstrating the organisations visions and values to ensure that they become embedded in the culture
• Contributing to organisational design and delivery activity such as role design, and organisational reviews to ensure the organisation is aligned to the business strategy
• Conducting regular reviews and updates of HR policy and procedure to ensure continuous improvements, and compliance to legal and regulatory requirements and recognised best practice
• Leading and managing HR Projects as required, including participation in AUKT projects
• Deputising for the Head of HR Business Partnering as appropriate
Our HR Business Partners will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
• HR Generalist with level 5 CIPD or equivalent
• Previous HR leadership experience in complex and unionised environment, including dispute resolution
• Excellent working knowledge of employment law
• Change leadership and management
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Excellent coaching skills
• Good numeracy and literacy levels
• Flexible and adaptable
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise
• Experience of building strong working relationships, with the ability to challenge and influence at difference levels across the organisation.
• Experienced in delivering coaching, training, and development interventions to drive Line manager capability.
