Role Overview

As HR Business Lead, you will provide strategic leadership to the HR Business Partnering function, ensuring the delivery of an HR Business Partner service aligned with the Council’s strategic objectives, goals, and values. This key role involves leading projects impacting our workforce, developing and coordinating programmes of work to review operations, maximise opportunities, build organisational capacity, and support business transformation. You will lead a team of professional officers, ensuring that council services are supported with expert HR policy, processes, and advice to address business challenges and seize opportunities related to the people function.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced HR professional with:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law and its practical applications;
  • Chartered membership of CIPD;
  • Extensive experience leading an HR team and workforce initiatives with organisational impact;
  • Strong communication and consultation skills, with the ability to build relationships with senior managers, trade unions, and colleagues.
