Job Summary
Brighton College is seeking to appoint a HR Assistant (Placement) on a full-time, fixed-term contract.
Main Purpose Of The Role
To assist with the efficient running of the HR department. This is a fixed-term placement for one year, with the possibility of an extension to the contract or a permanent position.
General Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for recruitment activities across the College and Prep School.
- Assist hiring managers with standard recruitment procedures, acting as a point of contact for routine queries.
- Help coordinate recruitment campaigns, including posting job advertisements and tracking applications.
- Support interview logistics by scheduling interviews and preparing relevant documentation.
- Assist with interview arrangements, including meeting and greeting candidates and carrying out basic ID checks.
- Help manage candidate communications throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Collect recruitment-related documents from hiring managers and interview panels as needed.
- Ensure recruitment tasks align with standard College procedures and practices.
- Support the preparation of offer letters and employment contracts under guidance.
- Input new starter information into College systems such as iSAMS and CIPHR, as directed.
- Act as a contact for new starters, offering basic assistance during the onboarding phase.
- Request references and maintain simple tracking of responses.
- Support onboarding by assisting with induction checklists and follow-up tasks.
- Help coordinate check-ins with new starters and gather feedback during exit processes.
- Provide light administrative support for monthly line manager meetings, as required.
- Assist the HR team with straightforward project tasks and record keeping.
- Provide general administrative support, including data entry and file maintenance.
- Any other reasonable management request.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week).
Remuneration
The rate of pay for this role will be £12.21 per hour.
Holidays
23 days, plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
