Job description

An international bank based in Central London is looking for an experienced HR Assistant to join the team.


Please note - this role offers hybrid working three days per week in the office and two days per week working from home.


This role would suit an HR generalist with 2+ years of experience working in HR, ideally within an SME, in the banking or financial services sector, and have a good understanding of HR practices. Perhaps you are currently working as an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, HR Officer, HR Associate, HR Advisor, or similar.


As the HR Assistant, working in a small team of three, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Recruitment liaising with agencies and tailoring job specifications.
  2. Conducting hiring checks including right to work and onboarding - including contracts, inductions, and probation management.
  3. Managing the HR system.
  4. Assisting with the yearly review of job descriptions and performance appraisals.
  5. Assisting with annual assessments for Senior Management and Certified Regime members of staff (SMCR) ensuring compliance with FCA/PRA requirements while working alongside the compliance team.
  6. Writing and updating policies and procedures, presentations, internal communications, and monthly reports for the HR meeting with the Management Committee.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of HR experience within the banking, financial services, or wider professional services sector. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) skills, be an active problem solver, and have a customer focus while maintaining confidentiality and achieving high levels of employee satisfaction.


The salary on offer is GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 per annum plus a benefits package which includes a generous biannual bonus, typically around 30% annually.
