Job Description

The Funding and Development Manager plays a key role in supporting the development, expansion, and sustainability of ArtWorks. The role is project-driven, offering support to the Directors and Senior Management Team (Operations Manager and Creative Arts Coordinator) while focusing on securing funding, enhancing existing services and developing new branches of ArtWorks.

You will work as part of the senior management team closely with the care manager, creative arts coordinator, and accounts manager to ensure the smooth running and development of ArtWorks, as well as offering support to the directors regarding the expansion of service and fundraising.

Our artists, their well-being, and creativity are at the heart of everything we do at ArtWorks, and ensuring systems are in place to provide the highest quality provision for the people we support is paramount. The Funding and Development Manager will support this goal by ensuring each centre continues to develop and grow, as well as through sourcing funding opportunities to further enhance the service we can provide.

This maternity cover position will focus on the continued development of our new centre in Barnsley (based at Barnsley Civic) and research and groundwork for expanding services into Doncaster. There will also be a focus on developing a transport service and young people’s club at ArtWorks Rotherham in Thorpe Hesley. Additionally, the role involves securing funding for planned activities and projects for ArtWorks working with the Creative Arts Coordinator.

We ask that you have a car and acquire business insurance to ensure you can attend meetings with partners and provide support to other team members in transporting artists where needed.

We will provide you with care and comprehensive first-aid training, so you can understand autism and learning disabilities and confidently support our team and the people they support. Having a background in care or connections to people with a learning disability and/or who are autistic is beneficial for this position, but not essential.

To begin your application for this role, please send your CV, cover letter, and your answers to the following questions by using the apply button provided:

  1. Do you have a valid UK Driving Licence?
  2. Do you have access to your own, personal car?
  3. Would you be able to drive to our locations within 45 minutes?
  4. Are you aware this is a full-time position?
  5. We ask that you explain why you would like to work for ArtWorks in your cover letter.

If you are selected to progress in the recruitment process, you will be sent an application form to fill in prior to your interview and an online assessment form.

The final stage of our recruitment process is an in-person interview, details of which will be outlined closer to the time.
