North East Museums is a regional museum, art gallery and archives service. We manage twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this award-winning service; we are seeking to recruit a HR Assistant to join our small but supportive and dedicated HR team, where positive sharing of experience and learning is valued and welcomed.
Our team of 3 provide key HR services to all North East Museums Staff and those in our Trading Company, TWAM Enterprises Ltd. The current post holder has secured a secondment opportunity and the post is fixed term for the duration of this.
On a day-to-day basis you will play a key role supporting all our recruitment and onboarding processes, with a clear aim of helping to ensure an excellent candidate experience whilst also diversifying our staff teams. You will work closely with our learning and volunteering teams and external partners to also develop and deliver some of our Museums careers related work.
In addition to this you will take a lead role co-ordinating some of North East Museums internal HR systems. This includes StaffSavvy which is used to manage staffing for all our customer facing teams. An aptitude and experience of using HR systems, numeracy and excellent attention to detail are all critical in this work. (Previous experience of using rostering systems is not essential but would be desirable)
As part of a small team there is also plenty of scope to get involved in other HR, wellbeing, training and development activity. This may involve supporting case work but also the provision and analysis of some data and reports. We are passionate about supporting our staff and the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion will be front and centre in the work we expect you to do as we contribute to meeting our organisational mission and commitments.
