Job description

Role: HR Assistant
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 based on qualifications and experience
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Full Time (37.5 hrs pw)
Location: Remote

What you’ll do
• Assist and support the HR function on all operational Human Resources matters
• Update and maintain the HR database and personnel files throughout the employment lifecycle
• Monitor, record, and report staff absence (sickness, annual leave, unpaid leave, etc.), ensuring accurate records are maintained to inform payroll
• Work alongside payroll and HR colleagues to support monthly payroll preparation, including tracking starters/leavers, contractual changes, absence data, and salary amendments
• Assist with all aspects of recruitment, including posting job advertisements, liaising with candidates and managers, tracking applications and scheduling interviews where required
• Support the onboarding and induction processes for new staff
• Capture and prepare confidential meeting minutes and recording action points
• Assist in verifying staff eligibility by processing Right to Work checks and managing the administration of DBS applications and related documentation.

What you’ll need
• Level 2 English and Maths as a minimum
• General education to A level standard or equivalent
• Ability to meet and exceed targets
• Ability to work to deadlines and deliver tasks with accuracy
• Experience of delivering appropriate related strategies
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent administration skills including good knowledge of audit trails and procedures
• Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively
• Highly computer literate, with a knowledge of filing, record keeping and recording outcomes.

Overseas equivalent qualifications will be accepted.
