Located just minutes from the centre of Godalming and a short walk from Godalming railway station, we enjoy a superb location with easy access to local amenities, offering both convenience and tranquility.

Job purpose: Joining the HR team, you will support our residential care teams, skills centre, café, domestic team, and all back-of-house departments in their training requirements, staff documentation tracking, employee relations, and the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

We are a team of four, based in our Skills Centre, working in a fast-paced environment where clear, positive, and friendly communication, along with a can-do attitude, is key to success.

You will work directly with the HR team and support our Residential Services. Due to the nature of the role, this position will be based on-site with occasional evening and weekend flexibility.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Coordinate mandatory employee training and maintain an up-to-date training database, liaising with all departments to ensure timely completion of training, both classroom and e-learning.
  2. Support in ensuring the necessary fit notes, self-certificates, return-to-work forms, and related documents are completed and uploaded onto HR systems promptly.
  3. Track all right-to-work, DBS, and onboarding documentation, ensuring they are current and staff are notified of renewals or updates.
  4. Provide clear policy guidance to Managers, signposting to correct policies and escalating issues to the HR Team Leader/Head of HR as needed.
  5. Assist the HR Team Leader in preparing and checking the monthly payroll summary.
  6. Attend and support HR Open Days, internal and external career events.
  7. Oversee the HR inbox, supporting with staff queries.
  8. Gain understanding of workforce scheduling systems, supporting Managers with operational queries.
  9. Take minutes at residential management and staff meetings.
  10. In the absence of the Recruitment Assistant, support screening of job adverts, conduct phone interviews, communicate with candidates, and manage onboarding documentation in coordination with Managers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Discretion and ability to work confidentially
  • Enthusiasm for promoting The Meath
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines

Experience Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification
  • Experience in the Health & Social Care sector
  • Previous HR/recruitment experience
