Salary: £18,000
Location: High Wycombe
Contract type: Apprentice

Location: High Wycombe (Stadium & Training Ground) with occasional travel to Harlington (Academy Training Ground)
Hours: Full-Time (including occasional evening/weekend work on matchdays)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Apprenticeship (typically 16 months) with the possibility of a permanent role at the end of the Apprenticeship
Reports To: HR Manager
Training Provided: CIPD Level 3 (HR Support) Apprenticeship

Role Overview

As an HR Apprentice, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the club’s HR function — working with departments across football operations, academy, commercial, and stadium teams. You'll gain hands-on HR experience while studying toward your CIPD qualification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the administration of the employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, changes, and leavers.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate HR records.
  • Help with recruitment processes: posting jobs, screening CVs, coordinating interviews.
  • Prepare offer letters, contracts, and induction packs for new staff.
  • Support safeguarding and compliance processes (e.g., DBS checks, training records).
  • Update HR systems and databases (e.g. absence tracking, holiday records).
  • Assist with payroll processing.
  • Respond to routine HR queries.
  • Participate in HR projects, including wellbeing, equality, diversity & inclusion, and training initiatives.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Strong interest in starting a career in Human Resources.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive with excellent organisational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings/weekends.

Desirable:

  • Interest in football or sports industry.
  • Experience in an admin or customer service role.
