Job summary

A reputable HR services provider is seeking an experienced HR and Payroll Advisor based in East Kent. You will manage employee relations casework and administer payroll for a growing organisation. The role requires a strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices. Ideal candidates will have CIPD Level 5 or equivalent and experience in a fast-paced industrial environment. Benefits include hybrid working and 33 days holiday.

HR and Payroll Advisor

Location: East Kent (Hybrid working)
Salary: Circa 36,000 to 40,000/annum - Depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours

Are you an experienced HR Advisor with payroll knowledge looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced environment?

We're currently recruiting for an experienced HR and Payroll Advisor to join a well-established and growing organisation. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within a fast-paced industrial environment and will live within a commutable distance to East Kent. Full right to work in the UK will only be considered.

Key Responsibilities

HR Duties:

  • Manage a range of ER casework (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability).
  • Coach and support managers on people-related issues and employee performance.
  • Attend formal HR meetings as the advisor/representative.
  • Keep HR systems up to date and maintain accurate records.
  • Deliver and support training sessions on HR policy and employment legislation.
  • Assist with wider HR projects including wellbeing, culture and employee engagement.

Payroll Duties:

  • Administer and prep monthly payroll for up to a large number of employees using a payroll system ready for the payroll company.
  • Manage all payroll-related administration including starters, leavers, adjustments and benefits.
  • Conduct thorough payroll checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Act as first point of contact for payroll queries, liaising with managers and employees.

About You

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience (essential)
  • Experience in a combined HR and payroll position
  • Confident managing complex employee relations casework independently
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Proficient using HR systems - ideally Workday
  • Background in manufacturing or engineering in a fast-paced industrial environment (preferred)
